The Final TWAR of 2021Hey good people, Pastor Doug here. It is hard to believe that we are wrapping up the end of the year. What a year it has been. This is our final weekly update of 2021. Our team will be getting some much-needed rest for the remainder of December. Since this will be the last update for the year, it is packed full of all manner of goodness. From celebration to information, we have got a lot for you. I want to get us started with our Sunday Gathering schedule for Church Online and corporate worship at Water Place.
December 19: Church Online – 10a exclusively on Youtube. Church At Water Place: 10:00a (as usual)As we unpacked in detail last week, our Church Online and Church At Home experiences are changing beginning January 2, 2022. With a bit of a sprinkle of what these changes allow us to accomplish with our digital experience, we will be trying something new. For December 19, the Church-At-Home stream will be a hybrid experience (part live, part pre-recorded). To accomplish this, our live stream must mirror our corporate worship time of 10a on a singular platform. We are excited to see how this option can enhance the engagement of those who are unable to join us for corporate worship.December 24, 2021, Christmas Eve: 10a Church Online OnlyThis Christmas Eve, we will have a special Church At Home experience. 10a on Christmas Eve, join us on Youtube, Facebook, and the Church Online Platform for a beautiful Advent celebration. There will probably be fireplaces and Christmas trees, but there will definitely be an opportunity for our whole family to center our hearts on the joy that came to us on Christmas Day. December 26, 2021: Church Online Only (9:30a & 11:30a)As our team has been announcing over several weeks, the last Sunday of 2021 will be Church Online only. Enjoy worshipping with your friends and family in your home.
21 Days of Corporate Prayer and FastingOur next twenty-one days of corporate prayer and fasting are January 9-29, 2022. Pastor Sam has prepared for us an excellent guide for the twenty-one days. You can engage the guide and many other resources on our prayer site, pray21renovation.com.
Fall is a favorite season for most people. It’s a beautiful time where the weather transitions from hot to cool, leaves change color and fall ground, humidity leaves the air, and the holidays are right around the corner. As we entered this season of change, a few things changed with how we do Small Groups. The decision was made to go back to the basics to have a solid foundation. I’m not going to draw out this blog post with an example of how important a foundation is, but let’s just say nothing can stand without a God-ordained foundation in this world! And it was so… Our Small Groups for the Fall 2021 semester were Men, Women, Pre-Marriage, Marriage, Singleness, Prayer, Outreach, Leadership, Financial Stewardship, and Mental Health. These are the foundation “topics” where most ministries share a commonality.Next on the list was to host our first Small Group Leader Training. The turnout was magnificent. You all should pat yourself on the back to invest in your church and yourself. We learned the “win” for Small Groups, the purpose, how to conduct a Small Group, recruit future leaders, and other etiquette techniques that would make Small Group enjoyable. I truly believe this time of community helped propel us into the future reality we presently sit in.If you were part of a Small Group I know you made friends; I hope those friends turned into family. As I visited each Small Group I felt the love of a family. That feeling you have when someone has your back and will pray, protect, and admonish in love. It’s those things our God does for us. He gives us wisdom in seasons, protection in seasons, and admonishes us in love in seasons. I thank God for the beautiful church family he has provided at Renovation Church.I want to thank you all for your participation in this move of God. We are part of a church that most of our grandparents couldn’t imagine. A church full of differences that comes together to honor and worship God in unity. What a mighty work God is doing!!! I can’t wait to see you for the Spring Semester, and I’m looking forward to the new friendships I will form with you…..AND the Angels are singing in Heaven!!!!!! Sunday, we had the joy and privilege to cheer on five children and three adults as they made their public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ. This was a joyful time of celebration and awe of what our God can, and will, continue to do! If you know the following individuals listed below, please be sure to call or send a text congratulating them.• Layla Kirkendall• Genevieve Kirkendall• Nora Kirkendall• Evelyn Wires• Henry Wires• Lila Rose Hardin• Tony Lin• David WhiteOur next season of baptisms will occur in the Spring. Please stay tuned for future announcements.Grace and Peace,Sylvester Johnson Jr
