Sermon Guide

Advent is a celebration of spending time in spiritual preparation and commemorating Jesus’ birth. It is a time set aside for repentance and soul-searching.

December 10 – The First Noel

December 17 – Oh Come, All Ye Faithful

Christmas Eve – Joy to the World

“In the time of King Herod, after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, asking, “Where is the child who has been born king of the Jews? For we observed his star at its rising, and have come to pay him homage.” – Matthew 2:1-2

We often live as though we do not have a King.

Jesus is King.

All of us will go to great lengths to revere what we honour.

And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who is to shepherd my people Israel.’ [Micah 5:2] [2 Samuel 5:2]

N.T. Wright said, “The gospel, in the New Testament, is the good news that God (the world’s creator) is at last becoming king and that Jesus, whom this God raised from the dead, is the world’s true lord.

When we genuinely treasure Jesus as King, nothing will restrain us from bringing Him our first and our best.

Live like Jesus is King.
