This Week At Renovation,
It’s the last TWAR of the year. Christmas is ten days away. 2023 is just over two weeks away. Hopefully, for those of us who can, we are planning on spending time with family and friends. As well as taking many moments to remember the beauty of what this Advent time of year means. God became present among us in Jesus. I encourage you to follow His example and do the same for those in your life. Presence is always better than presents. #praisebreak
As a community, we have many things coming up in December and even more kicking off in January. So today’s TWAR is all about keeping you up to speed on what to expect and plan for over the next several weeks, and because I love you, there is also TL:DR at the end.
Before we get into it, for everyone in-person for our beginning of Jazz Christmas, those booklets are yours to keep AND bring back with you to use.
Love yall. Pastor Doug.

21 Days of Prayer and Fasting Begins | January 8th
There is no better way to begin a year than to fast and pray corporately. This fast we are focusing on Freedom From. “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” Galatians 5:1
What do you need freedom from this year? What do those you love need freedom from? Let’s dig in together to see those things happen.

Miracles Series Begins | January 8th
There can be miracles if you believe. For the next few weeks, as we enter our Bi-annual season of Prayer and Fasting, it is this belief—among other things—for which we are praying. We want to believe God for things that are certainly impossible for human beings but inevitably possible for God.

Work the Works of Jesus – Pastor Léonce B. Crump Jr.
The year was 1849, and those attuned to the times knew that the U.S. was on the brink of catastrophic consequences. African people had been in bondage in the U.S. for over two hundred years, and the prevailing winds of incremental change were blowing. War was on the horizon, and the sin of slavery would cost more lives than anyone could have ever imagined.
Dr Edmund Sears, a Unitarian pastor from Wayland, Massachusetts, was attuned to the moment. He felt lost as he sat trying to construct an uplifting Christmas message for his community. How could he inspire them when his soul was heavy, wearied and restless in light of all the brokenness surrounding him?

Weekly Goodness To Help You On Your Journey
Uncommon Obedience
I’ve heard the story of the virgin Mary over and over throughout my lifetime. In fact, I’m sure that the majority of the people in this world know the story whether they are a follower of Jesus or not. It’s a story that is told every Christmas. It’s a story that decorates our mantle pieces around this time of year, it’s recreated in pageants and even represented in the movies we watch.
But it is more than just a story. Mary was a real life HUMAN.
