Small Group Showcase | Feb 12, 2023

This Sunday is our first-ever Small Group Showcase. A whole day that is devoted to being locked into the community so that we can take off our masks and find freedom. If you can’t be with us at Water Place, make sure to join us live online, as we have some special ways for you to engage as well.

ALL CHURCH SUNDAY #1 | February 19, 2023

If you are in Atlanta and are a part of Renovation Church, this is one of the five Sundays in 2023 we are all planning to be together. Make your plans.

If you do not live in the metro, then join us online live that morning. We will be engaging in our online space for those who are visiting Renovation for the first time.

“The smartest and best man I have known jotted down some thoughts about hurry; I think they were posted in his kitchen when he died. ‘Hurry involves excessive haste or a state of urgency. It is associated with words such as hurl, hurdle, hurly-burly, and hurricane. [Hurry] is a state of frantic effort one falls into in response to inadequacy, fear or guilt. We should take it as our aim to live our lives entirely without hurry. We should form a clear intention to live without hurry. One day at a time. Trying today.’” – John Ortberg.

These words sound out like a bell, tolling to remind us of the choices we have made and make that led to such an unsuitable, unsustainable, and stingy life. A life that is the very opposite of the abundance Jesus promises to those who follow Him.

We will not be tracking through Comer’s book specifically. Instead, we will draw from the Scriptures the central biblical themes that actually undergird Comer’s work. We encourage you to get and read the book or join one of the Ruthless Elimination of Hurry Small Groups.

The hope over these several weeks is that you will be truly challenged and transformed. Challenged so deeply, perhaps, that you are moved to alter your rhythms of life, drive the speed limit, and stop equating excessive vacationing with actual rest for your soul.

Community Partners | Table On Delk

Hey Church Family! The Community Partners Team would like to invite you to our monthly serving opportunity with The Table on Delk. The Table on Delk is a local nonprofit whose goal is to end sex trafficking in Atlanta, GA. The stats on sex trafficking in our city are heartbreaking. Each night, at least 100 women and children are abused in our city. If you do the math on that, 365,000 of the most vulnerable people in our society have to experience the darkness of this world. The Community Partners Team has pledged to stop this from happening.

On February 12th, we will gather in the  Renovation Elementary Kids to decorate paper bags and make lunches for the women and children on Delk road. Although this seems small, it’s not. It provides the opportunity for us to witness and rescue the children of God who may see no way out. Join us, and let’s provide hope and light to the dark corners of this world and our city. If you have any questions, please contact Bill Huang at billhcheese@gmail.com for additional details.

We hope to see you on February 12th,

The Community Partners Team
